Factors correlated with the frailty of elderly in outpatient care: difference between age groups

Abstract Objective to correlate socio-demographic and health variables of elderly people different age groups with frailty. Method this is a quantitative, cross-sectional study conducted 50 individuals seen at Gerontology Outpatient Clinic in the interior São Paulo. Socio-demographic data were collected, including: frailty, cognitive performance, dependence on Basic Instrumental Activities Daily Living, depressive symptoms. For analysis, Spearman correlation test was used. Results there predominance women, mean 79.4 (±9.4) years low education. A total 58.3% aged between 60 79 84.6% those above 80 considered frail.
